James Dow

James W. Dow is Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He received a BS in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Brandeis University. Recent articles on religion have appeared in Method and Theory in the Study of Religion (Vol. 18 No. 1), Anpere (www.anpere.net) and the Anthropological Quarterly Vol. 78 No 4) He is a founding member of the Society for the Anthropology of Religion and served on the board for many years. His most recent book is Holy Saints and Fiery Preachers, deals with the spread of Evangelical Protestantism in Mexico and Central America.
