Pierre Livet

Pierre Livet is Professor of Epistemology at the University of Provence (Aix-Marseille) and Head of the CRNS Research team CEPERC. His research is about epistemology of social sciences (economics, sociology), theory of systems, cognitive sciences and ontology. He has recently published a book of social ontology (Les tres sociaux, 2009) with F. Nef, and is working on the relations between simulation and ontology.

Jean-Pierre M

Jean-Pierre Mller got his PhD in Artificial Intelligence in 1987 at INPG (Grenoble, France). He has been professor of Computer Science from 1987 to 2001 at the University of Neuchtel (Switzerland) and director of the team on Complex Adaptive Systems. Within this period, he also chaired the french community on multi-agent systems. From 2001, he is senior researcher at the French Agricultural Research Center for International Development (CIRAD) where he has been director of a multidisciplinary research unit on renewable resources management (GREEN). He is currently developping a framework for conceptual modeling and simulation called MIMOSA (http://mimosa.sourceforge.net/).

Denis Phan

Denis Phan is Post & Telecommunications Administrator and Senior Researcher in Economics and Computational Social Sciences at the GEMAS - CNRS. His past research interests are in the economics of telecommunications, software industry and regulation. He has published papers and various books in this field. Since 2000 his research interests focus on Complexity and Agent-Based Modelling (ABM) for Economics and Social Sciences. He has co-published in 2008 at the Bardwell Press (with Frederic Amblard) an introductory book on 'ABM and Simulation in the Social and Human Sciences', and presently coordinate the ANR project 'COSMAGEMS' on Ontologies for ABM in SHS

Lena Sanders

Lena Sanders is Senior Researcher at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and Director of the laboratory Gographie-cits (CNRS University Paris 1 University Paris 7). She has an academic education in statistics and in geography (Ph.D., 1984). Her research is in the field of urban and regional geography and of spatial analysis. She has contributed to the elaboration of several models of spatial dynamics, in particular for modelling the emergence and the evolution of systems of cities, using different theoretical frameworks: dynamic system theory, synergetics, dynamic microsimulation, and agent-based models.
