Bastin Tony Roy Savarimuthu

Bastin Tony Roy Savarimuthu received his Master of Engineering (ME) degree in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India. He is currently a Lecturer in Information Science at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. His primary area of research is normative multi-agent systems. His PhD work focuses on how norms emerge in artificial agent societies and how agents can identify norms in open agent societies.

Stephen Cranefield

Stephen Cranefield studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Otago and then gained a PhD in artificial intelligence from the University of Edinburgh. He is currently an associate professor in information science at the University of Otago where he researches in the area of multiagent systems, with a focus on the use of social concepts such as norms. He is on the editorial board of the journals Multiagent and Grid Systems and Knowledge Engineering Review and has been on the programme committee for many international conferences and workshops, and on the senior programme committee for the International Conference on Automonous Agents and Multiagent Systems and the Australasian Conference on Artificial Intelligence.

Maryam A. Purvis

Maryam Purvis is a Lecturer in Information Science at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. Dr. Purvis obtained M.A in Mathematics from University of Texas at Austin and PhD in Information Science from the University of Otago, Dunedin. Her research interests are in the areas of active and collaborative learning, distributed information systems and software engineering.

Martin K. Purvis

Martin Purvis is a Professor of Information Science at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. He is the director of Software Engineering and Telecommunications programmes. His research interests are in the areas of distributed information systems, agent based computing, wireless computing, group learning and social networking.
