Gijs de Bakker conducted a PhD research in the field of educational technology, which he recently defended succesfully. His research focused on the facilitation of online peer support activities via online support systems based on peer allocation mechanisms. His interest also goes out to educational use of web 2.0 technologies.

Jan van Bruggen

Jan van Bruggen (1953) has a PhD in educational technology. He is associate Professor at Fontys University for Applied Science and at the Open University of the Netherlands (OUNL). At Fontys he heads a lectorate on research and development in educational applications of ICT such as student support systems. At OUNL he leads one of the themes in Peter Sloep's Learning Networks program.

Wim Jochems

Wim Jochems received his Master degree in Educational Psychology and Methodology from Utrecht University and his PhD in Technical Sciences from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). In 1989 he became full professor in educational development and educational technology at TU Delft. From 1993 until 1998 he was Dean of the faculty of Humanities at TU Delft. In 1998 he became Dean of the Educational Technology Expertise Centre at the Open University of the Netherlands (OUNL) and full professor in Educational Technology. From 2006 onwards he is Dean of the Eindhoven School of Education at Eindhoven University of Technology.

Peter B. Sloep

Dr. Peter B. Sloep is a professor of Technology Enhanced Learning at the Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies at the Open University of the Netherlands, where he directs the Research and Technology Development Programme on Learning Networks. His current research focusses on learning and professional development in networked, online environments, so-called learning networks. Of particular interest are the social affordances and their technical implementation in services – including specifications for interoperability - that make learning in such an environment effective, efficient, enjoyable and sustainable. Dr. Sloep is a reviewer of several journals on Technology Enhanced Learning. He also chairs the Dutch standards body's (NEN) committee on learning technologies. Over the years, he has built up extensive project management experience with a variety of internally, nationally and internationally funded projects. Most recently, has been involved in the FP6 projects Cooper (STREP), and TENCompetence (IP). He coordinates the FP 7 idSpace project (STREP) on distributed, collaborative product innovation.
