Sergey Parinov

Sergey Parinov, leading researcher of Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. Head of the Socionet project to build virtual research environment for Russian community of scientists by implementing Open Science ideas and approaches (socionet.ru). Board member of euroCRIS professional association (www.eurocris.org). He is involved in agent based simulation of social systems usign AnyLogic modeling software (anylogic.com). Member of European Social Simulation Association. Also he is one of leaders of a big Russian project to build a modern research assessment information system where in users more then 400 research institutes of Russian Academy of Sciences and with about 30 thousands researchers in their staff. New concept and tools for better measurements of a research impact and improvements of evaluation procedures are developed in this project. Possible problems with science system social sustainability because of changing virtual research environment are in the research agenda of this project.

Cameron Neylon

Cameron Neylon is a biophysicist who has always worked in interdisciplinary areas and is an advocate of open research practice and improved data management. He currently works as Senior Scientist in Biomolecular Sciences at the ISIS Neutron Scattering facility at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). Along with his work in structural biology and biophysics his research and writing focuses on the interface of web technology with science and the successful (and unsuccessful) application of generic and specially designed tools in the academic research environment. He is a co-author of the Panton Principles for Open Data in Science, founding Editor in Chief of Open Research Computation, and writes regularly on the social, technical, and policy issues of open research at his blog, Science in the Open.
