Yan Ma

Assistant Professor in Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS,China. She has a PhD degree, which was supported by Scholarship of the Japanese Government in Kanazawa University, Japan. During her Phd research she has participated in the research projects of Housing Policy for Aged-population (Ishikawa Province), Survey in Historical Conservation Teramachi Area (Cultural Agency of Japanese Government) and Land Use Simulation in Urban Partitions using Multi-agent System.

Zhenjiang SHEN

Zhenjiang Shen is a Professor at the Graduated School of Natural Science and Technology Science, Kanazawa University, Japan. His research interests include urban policy of China, policy-making support system for planning and design using GIS & VR. He also participated in the Inquiry Commission for the revision of the Chengdu Master Plan. Recently, he is cooperating with Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Planning for metropolitan growth simulation. In planning practice, he also participated in diversified urban projects, such as the historical conservation plan of Beijing in the early stage, which won the second prize of Ministry of Construction, China in 1987. And in 2010, he won heritage conservation award, Region IV, UIA (The International Union of Architects) for his work on historical landscape visualization for Traditional temple building preservation district Kanazawa, Japan.

Mitsuhiko Kawakami

Mitsuhiko Kawakami is a Professor at the Graduated School of Natural Science and Technology Science, Kanazawa University, Kanazawa City, Japan. He is serving as Chairperson of Urban Planning Committee of Ishikawa Prefecture, Chairperson of Land Use Committee of Ishikawa Prefecture, Advisor of Urban Planning for Kanazawa City and Director of Kanazawa Citizen's Research Organization, et al. He also serves as Commissioner of Urban Planning and Design in Architectural Institute of Japan, Councillor of City Planning Institute of Japan. He is main investigator of the historical conservation projects in Kanazawa City for supporting local policy decision-making regarding urban conservation and he has participated in the revision of Kanazawa Master Plan and diversified urban projects, et al. Recently, he was selected as the President of the Institute of Kanazawa Traditional House (Machiya).
