Daniel Villatoro

Dr. Daniel Villatoro is a Researcher of the R&D Mobility and Energy at BDIGITAL. He obtained a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the Institute of Research in Artificial Intelligence (IIIA-CSIC), and winner of the Distinguished Victor Lesser Dissertation Award. He has developed his research experience in collaboration with the University of Tulsa, the Laboratory of Agent Based Social Simulation (ISTC-CNR) and the King's College of London. His research interests focus on behavioural modelling, self-organizing systems and social networks, focusing on the Smartcity paradigm and citizen-centric applications. Daniel has contributed to more than 30 publications, and serves as chair of the Citisen Workshop (amongst many others) and reviewer for many top-ranked scientific journals.

Giulia Andrighetto

Giulia Andrighetto received her Ph.D in Philosophy at the University of Rome «La Sapienza» in 2007. She is currently a post doc at the Laboratory on Agent Based Social Simulation, within the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies at the Italian National Research Council (ISTC-CNR). Her reserch activity aims to develop interdisciplinary studies in the cognitive and social fields. She is interested in applying multiagent-based social simulation and agent theory to understand social norms, their emergence, evolution and innovation in social systems with autonomous agents. She has published several scientific articles on norms representation and reasoning, and agent-based simulation.

Rosaria Conte

Rosaria Conte is Research Director at CNR, and Vice President of CNR's Scientific Committee. Since 1998, she is head of the LABSS (Laboratory of Agent Based Social Simulation) at the ISTC (Institute for Cognitive Science and Technology) of CNR. Former president of AISC, Italian Association of Cognitive Science, and of ESSA, the European Association of Social Simulation, she has been teaching Social Psychology. She is a cognitive and social scientist, with a special interest for the study of positive social action (altruism, cooperation and social norms), and reputation-based social regulation. Quite active in the MAS field, she contributed to launch the field of social simulation in Europe by organising amongst the main events held in the last ten years or so, editing collective volumes and coordinating a EU-funded Special Interest Group on Agent-based Social Simulation. She has been member of several European research projects and Networks of Excellence. She has published about 120 among scientific articles and books on cognitive social agents, norms representation and reasoning, and agent-based simulation. Her research interests range from Agent Theory to Multi Agent Systems, from Agent-Based Social Simulation and Cultural Evolution to Info-societies and Virtual Markets.

Jordi Sabater-Mir

Jordi Sabater-Mir is a Tenured Scientist at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA-CSIC). Jordi Sabater-Mir holds a PhD in artificial intelligence from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and conducted his research at the IIIA-CSIC. He has been for two years a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow at the ISTC-CNR in Rome. His current research is focused on trust, reputation and social network analysis in multi-agent system, cognitive agents and electronic institutions.
