Nigel Gilbert is Professor of Sociology at the University of Surrey, where he is also a part-time Pro Vice-Chancellor. He is Director of the Centre for Research on Simulation in the Social Sciences (CRESS) and Editor of the Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation. He is author or editor of 14 books and about 120 papers, most recently Simulation for the Social Scientist (with Klaus G. Troitzsch), forthcoming, Open University Press.
