Klaus Jaffe, (Caracas, 31-7-1951). Full professor, Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB) and researcher, Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC). A degree in Chemistry, 1974 (USB), an MSc in Biochemistry, 1977 (IVIC) and a Ph.D (1979) working with insect behavior at the University of Southampton, UK. I did research in neurochemistry, behavioral physiology, eco-ethology of social insects and more recently human ethology. I am interested in problems of theoretical biology and behavioral economics using agent based computer simulations. I have published over 140 peer reviewed articles, several books and patents and tutored close to a hundred theses at various levels.
