Robert Tobias studied Civil Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich where he obtained his degree in 1989. After a couple of years working as geotechnical engineer he went to the University of Zurich, where he studied psychology, informatics and sociology. He obtained his degree in 2000. Since 1998 he is working in computer simulations of social scientific theories and intervention measures for communities at the Division of Social Psychology of the University of Zurich. Since 2002 he also works at the Swiss Federal Institute for Environmental Science and Technology (EAWAG) in the process Systems Analysis, Integrated Assessment and Modeling (SIAM).

Carole Hoffman is studying psychology with minors in computer science and media science. She is currently working on her degree at the Division of Social Psychology of the University of Zurich. Since 2002 she is co-owner of shiftTHINK Ltd. and working there as Head of the Research Department.
