Johannes Kottonau graduated in Environmental Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, and holds a PhD of Natural Sciences. He is interested in the simulation of the link between individual psychological processes and the phenomenon of public opinion formation.

Claudia Pahl-Wostl

Claudia Pahl-Wostl is professor for the ''Management of Resource Flows'' an endowed chair of the German Environmental Foundation at the Institute of Environmental Systems Research, University of Osnabrück. The new research field is devoted to developing innovative concepts of managing transformation processes towards sustainability with an emphasis on an improved understanding of dynamics and management of actor networks and the development of indicators for environmental, economic and social sustainability. One major area of research is agent based social simulation to improve the understanding of the complex dynamics of social systems and the development of appropriate management concepts.
